The degree of geological hazard and ecological risks in the south of East Siberia is determined by the complex of natural and technogeneous factors responsible for the development of hazardous exogenous geological processes of cryogenic group. These factors include: high seismotectonic activity, relief contrast, diversity of geological formations, peculiarities of climate and soil-vegetable cover, permafrost conditions, deep seasonal freezing and technogeneous pressure.

Key words: Geocryology, cryogenic processes, permafrost, seasonally freezing soils, cryogenesis.
