The changes in geocryological conditions caused by the permafrost degradation were investigated at the Seida key site area, European North of Russia. The forecast analysis of soil temperature regime variability until 2050 and 2099 and the estimated extent of surface subsidence upon projected thawing of permafrost deposits served as the basis for quantitative indicators of changes in the permafrost conditions. The paper provides quantitative estimation of the surface thaw subsidence and its spatial distribution patterns, and discusses patterns of permafrost aggradation resulting from relief inversion.
