On January 17, 2019, associate professor Nellie Vatslavovna Tumel, a second-generation permafrost researcher, passed away. Nellie Vatslavovna will be remembered as a talented teacher, the founder of the geoecological scientific direction at the faculty of cryolithology and glaciology of the department of geography, MSU; as a scholar of the broad scientific outlook, an optimistic and helpful person.
