In the textbook, L.N. Khrustalev off ers the solution of a wide range of problems relating to permafrost engineering. Methods for predicting thermal and mechanical interaction between engineering structures and frozen ground are discussed, and methods of ensuring stability of engineering structures in the permafrost zone are described for various geotechnical systems. The probabilistic-statistical approach makes it possible to solve many optimization problems of permafrost engineering.
