On June 28, 2019, the famous engineer, geologist, geocryologist, Doctor of Geology, Professor Vadim Vladimirovich Pendin passed away. Vadim Vladimirovich will remain forever in his friends’ and colleagues’ memories as a gifted scientist, an outstanding educator, a science organizer and the councilor of the editorial board of the Earth’s Cryosphere journal highly valued by the entire community of the permafrost scientists.
